Paragliding: Fly over Armenia
Paragliding has been proactively developing in recent years in Armenia, specially that the Country has the necessary technical - high and convenient mountains for repulsion, safe areas for landing, winds and air flows - and also attractive conditions to glide high.
Paragliding Sport Federation is actively taking steps towards well-development of the field by tutoring and organizing tours and events for paragliding and tandem flights.

Take off locations
Aparan
Mountain range stretching from outskirts of Aparan town to Dzoraglukh village.
Is a relatively newly discovered flying site, with beautiful scenery, and is beloved site of all Armenian paragliding pilots.
Excellent, wide, clean and smooth take off area & good conditions for top landings,
The mountain range, has a long ridge, good for dynamic soaring, with practically unlimited, free, flat fields for landings. You can reach take off area via 4WD vehicles (there is no asphalt-based road). Predictable micrometeorology.
Mount Armaghan (2829m)
Mount Armaghan is a volcanic mountain in the outskirts of Madina village of Martuni region with a beautiful little volcanic lake at the top.
Simple relief and predictable aerology, smooth & clear slopes with practically unlimited, free, flat fields for landings. Predictable micrometeorology.

Gandzasar (Artsakh)
The site is located next to Vank village in Artsakh, the scenic place with unique landscapes of Gandzasar. Amazing scenes with mild microclimate.
Mount Hatis (2528m)
Mount Hatis (2528m) is located in Kotayk Province, less than 30 minutes from yerevan. It is the "birthplace" of Armenian paraglider and hangglider pilots.
Simple relief and predictable aerology, with practically unlimited, free, flat fields for landings. Take-off area can be reached by 4WD.

Sovetashen
The site is consisted of low-altitude hills next to Nubarashen region in Yerevan.
The first practical lessons of the Federation were organized in Sovetashen. The soil is soft (red clay soil) and the vegetation is scarce. Different orientation hills and take off areas with winds blowing from different directions.
Mount Teghenis (2851m)
Teghenis is the highest Summit in Teghenyats Mountain range. It is about 45 minutes from Yerevan. The Summit is accessible by off-road vehicles. An amazing view of the Armenian Highland opens up from the top.

Tsovagyugh
Tsovagyugh is located next to Lake Sevan in Gegharkunik Province. It will take around an hour to get there from Yerevan. It is the beloved "belveder" of Armenian paragliding pilots, with beautiful views of the lake.
The Mountain range, has long straight ridges, good for dynamic soaring. You can find the convergence phenomenon allowing to soar not only in the dynamics near the slopes but also in the entire territory even to novice pilots.
Smooth, soft, grass-covered fields for landings. Take off areas can be reached via ropeway and also by 4WD.
Vayots mountains
Relatively new-discovered flying site, beloved by experienced paragliding pilots.
Predictable micrometeorology, with with relatively scarce precipitations.
Long stretch of mountain range that allows to fly great distances. Take off areas can be reached by 4WD.
