Bgheno-Noravank is located in Syunik Province, about 6km SE of Shinuhayr (not to be confused with Noravank Monastery in the Vayots Dzor Province).
The church built in 1062 is a vaulted building with arched apertures on the western, northern and southern sides. In 1962 a roofed gallery, running around the building on three sides was added. Many reliefs on the Monastery walls illustrate various subjects from the life of Jesus Christ.
The ruins of this church were discovered in the 1920s by Axel Bakunts, a well-known prose writer.
