Location: Lori provicne, Alaverdi town

Sanahin (UNESCO's World Heritage Site) is supposed to be founded in the 4th century, though the exact date for the founding is unknown.
The Complex:
- St. Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, built in 928 - 944 by the Bagratunis. The St. Astvastatsin gavit was constructed in 1211 by the order of Prince Vacheh Vachutian;
- St. Amenaprkitch (Holy Redeemer or All Savior) Katoghike Church, built by the order of Queen Khosrovanush, wife to King Ashot III (the Merciful) Bagratuni; the construction was completed in 966. St. Amenaprkitch or the inner gavit (1181) was built by the architect Zhamhair;
- The Seminary or “Magistros academy” (10 -11th cc);
- Bell Tower (13th c.);
- The book depository and gallery (the buildings present the high level of civil architecture at the time).
- Grigor Chapel (10th c.);
- St. Hakop Church (10th c.),
- St. Harutiun Church (13th c.)
- Zakarian Sepulcher, Patrimonial Sepulchres of Sanahin, built for members of the ruling families.
- Khachkar Masterpieces at Sanahin include the Grigor Tudevordi khachkar and the Sarkis khachkar.
